Food cart site: FEDERATION SQUARE - CLOSED

Last year we claimed the title of 'Drought Breakers' when we started our outdoor food cart at Federation Square and instantly encountered the wettest winter in a decade. With this winter promising to be the second wettest winter, we’re closing up our Fed Square site and relocating to Melbourne University with a double-sized site offering food and coffee.

We’d like to say thanks to Fed Square for being our first site partner, and particularly sharing in the achievement of providing thousands of hours of training and employment at the site. Here’s a snapshot of what’s been achieved at the site:

We’ve sold nearly 8,000 meals since starting at Fed Square. This has provided real opportunities...

  • Thousands of hours of employment for trainees and staff
  • A regular revenue stream of which 100% goes straight back to providing training and employment opportunities for homeless youth
  • 26 trainees have received training at the site
  • Our first two classes have now graduated from STREAT, the majority have moved onto either full apprenticeships in fine dining or gone straight into cafe or restaurant employment
  • We’ve had a strong desire from local customers to get further involved, including as volunteers.

Thanks again for your support, and for working together to stop homelessness – the delicious way!
